About Dollar Foundation

A charity organization in Koforidua, Ghana, built on one simple idea: be nice to someone for no reason.

Our mission

We strive to put smiles on the faces of as many as we can by touching their lives through donations and again shaping their lives and future by providing mentorship programmes.

Our vision

To become the leading, largest and most influential foundation in Africa by changing, shaping and touching lives as well as empowering the youth to achieve success in all aspects of life.

Who we serve

We give a helping hand to orphans, the aged, widows, less privileged children and brilliant but needy students, and we provide mentorship programmes for primary, JHS, SHS and tertiary students.

What our logo means

Three figures reach out to one another inside a single circle. That’s the foundation in a picture: people of every age and circumstance, holding each other up as one community.

Kindness without conditions

Our motto asks for nothing in return. We help because people need help, not because they have earned it.

Care that lasts

Mentorship follows students from primary school through JHS and SHS to tertiary, so support doesn’t stop at one gift.

Powered by volunteers

Our outreaches are run by volunteers who give their time — you’ll see them in the foundation’s green, blue and orange T-shirts.

Based in Koforidua

Dollar Foundation was founded on 8 July 2019 by Richard Amoako and is based in Koforidua, in Ghana’s Eastern Region.

Our story so far

From our first weeks in 2019, our volunteers have taken books, pens, pencils, water, drinks, clothing, shoes, bags, slippers and more to schools and communities. All together, we have given support to nearly 1,000 children and adults.

    Richard Amoako founds Dollar Foundation.

  2. 27 July 2019

    Unto Others International School, Accra

    Our volunteers present gifts to pupils at a school event.

  3. 8 October 2019

    Asafo Pechi School

    Exercise books, pens, drinks and other supplies for the pupils.

  4. 24 December 2021

    Timber Nkwanta community

    A Christmas Eve visit with clothing and drinks for the community’s children.

  5. 10 December 2022

    Akropong School for the Blind

    Drinks, biscuits, bags and other gifts for the students.
